Questions anyone?

in the month of june, instead of normal (if that is an applicable adjective) youth meetings, we will have a question and answer forum. in that forum, we plan to tackle some of the students questions such as: "can i lose my salvation?" "do i really have a choice or does God make them all for me?" "do exercisms still take place?" "are there really crowns in heaven?" etc.

they've asked some really good questions, and some that fire up my little calvinist engine. but we've probably got room for some additional questions too (there are 5 wednesdays in june after all!).

do you have any questions you think would be good? one a student typically asks you, or one you may be struggling through yourself?

if so, fire away. i'd really love for this to be an exciting, challenging exercise in critical thinking for our students.

    Sure!

    - Why would a just and loving God create a person He knows is destined to spend eternity in torment?

    - Didn't Job deserve a straight answer to any of his questions?

    - Is a battered woman ever justified in divorcing her husband if he never technically cheated on her?

    - How does one determine which Biblical instructions are merely "cultural"?

    - How did animals that can only survive in specific climates survive on Noah's ark?

    - Why are some predisposed to homosexuality?

    - If I love God, am I definitely in His Will?

    - Is it possible for anyone who's never heard of Jesus to go to Heaven? If so, would it have been better for some to have never heard of Jesus?

    - Was it truly better for Judas to never have been born, or just better for Judas?

    - Is it sometimes, always or never a good idea to base what I think God's will for me is in a given situation on a feeling I have?

    - What's the difference between a denomination and a cult?

Anyhow, I've got loads of others. By the way, I've found, in situations like those, people rarely ask the questions I want them to ask. I dunno.

Let us know how it goes!

what does the Bible clearly state about the whole "eat, drink, and be merry" concept... like not drinking to get drunk and what not... all that jazz. (obviously for future reference not for highschool age kids... for instance if they see a parent or someone, etc.) it has been said that the true alcoholic content back then made it purely like water with a little something in it, and not the amount of today? is this true?

--it may be a touchy subject, but one that could use a little insight and info.
