Purpose Driven and Evangelism?

I read this post today:

What's wrong with Rick Warren and why?

Before you get upset, here is one line:
First, we should love and pray for Rick Warren. He does say some good and useful things and my prayer is that he will return to preaching Biblical salvation and repentance of sin.
I think "Pastor Eric" reveals that evangelism can't remain evangelism if it is too vague.

I know of some who have written to Warren and either received no response, or in one case - an actual apology for an email he sent to one brother:

This revolved around his comments in Syria which, by the way, Warren has continued to deny - despite the fact that they were proven by a Youtube video taken by someone in his own group that was quickly taken down.

But as you read that article above, you'll see it was followed up by an attack from one of Warren's people (put up to it, or not??).

I'm certainly not one of these people who think Warren is the anti-Christ, but I do encourage everyone to open their Bible and study and think. Deception is what it is because of its subtle nature. I really don't think Warren is being deceptive as part of a grand plan (hope not), but I think he believes he is really helping the world - the problem is he's not doing it Biblically.
