Blog Spot

Since he is apparently helping people refinance now, I'm giving Jason a little more time to write his article on Sola Fide. (How's that for applying the screws?) So I thought I'd take the chance to point out some other things out there on the internet:

re:greek
A great study tool for work in koine. Has a great concordance. NASB. ESV. KJV. It will even help with parsing!

studylight.org
Another great study search tool. Also lays out greek text and will parse!

Keith Shearer has returned to the blogosphere. It should be required reading for all pastors. There is an excellent post up now regarding the Distinctions between Israel and the Church.

WOW!--Awesome Video available here.

I just watched that "awesome" video Saturday morning - it was a bit anxious, I thought. So feeling compelled by it, Saturday afternoon I went out and bought Bullhorn to see what it was like. Have you seen Bullhorn? I think you’d like it Danny, it pretty much aligns with your opinion of the “altar-call”.

    i saw bullhorn.

i don't think it was anti altar call at all. instead (and sadly) i think it was anti confrontation (even loving ones). bell's mode of operatation seems to be to focus so much on not offending that he would never confront their beliefs.

i don't think you can call what he described evangelism.

For someone who's against confrontation he certianly encounters his fair share of enemies huh?

do you define enemy as anyone who disagrees?

the men i know who disagree with him (my self included) may loathe his teaching but harbor no ill will toward him.

he's far from an enemy of mine.

That was a great question Danny - excuse me while I go gather some kind remarks from some of his friends on google...

I totally know you're serious when you say he's far from your enemy - but it surprises me at the same time. Like, for instance, the video mocking him appears to be the work of an enemy, not a friend, and you linked it so I figured he was your enemy.

    so sam,

according to your logic, every german baptist you've ever mocked, every scenario you've ever ridiculed, every harsh word you have spoken is because they are your enemy?

is so, i feel bad for you.

if not, you're holding me to a different standard to yourself.

Danny, are you sure I mock people?

I admit to ridiculing scenarioes. But I honestly try not to mock people. I admit that I consider Ken Silva an enemy. But I'm not mocking him. For like forever I've believed that there is a grand canyon of difference between confronting ideas and mocking people. Meanwhile I could stand to improve so I'm sorry for mocking people and I'm going to stop.

I don't think anyone would mock a friend like so-n-so in Bullwhip mocked Rob Bell - I don't even think we should mock our enemies.

P.S. He called him "Raw Bull" - that's not nice is it?
